How to tie a tie Knot for Your Perfect Wedding Suit

September 22, 2025

It’s a finer detail we know, but nonetheless a detail that either boosts or deminshes the overal desired look and is just as important as “where should your trouser length sit on your shoe” – which is another subject we will cover – but these finer details can make all the difference to your final polished look.

Which Knot is the Right Knot for Your Bespoke Wedding Suit

Choosing the right knot will very much depend on your neck size, shirt collar type and theme of your wedding. Be it a more formal occasion where your choice of wedding suit is a morning suit or whether you’ve chosen a more simpler wedding theme with a more casual custom made suit or separate jacket and contrasting trousers. Either way your knot choice will perfectly complement your style.

The Full Windsor Knot

We have chosen the full windsor knot. A large, symmetrical, and formal triangular knot, often considered the most classic for formal events perfect for a more classic wedding suit like a morning suit.

The History of the full Windsor Knot

This knot is named after the Duke of Windsor who is sometimes credited for it’s invention and Wikipedia states the Windsor knot is the only tie knot that is to be used by all personnel in the Royal Air Force and the Royal Air Force Air Cadets in the UK when wearing their black tie while in uniform.
